Did you know that 1 in 6 children in the U.S. live with hunger? This is such an awful statistic but a reality in our country. For the 4th year in a row, The Habit Burger Grill is partnering with No Kid Hungry to continue its commitment to help end childhood hunger in America. Over the past four years, The Habit has raised over $1 million for the No Kid Hungry campaign, providing millions of meals for kids across the country. From now through the end of September, The Habit will be collecting donations for No Kid Hungry. Guests who donate $2 or more to the No Kid Hungry campaign will receive a free Charburger with cheese certificate, good on a return visit through October 2, 2018.To help raise awareness about childhood hunger, No Kid Hungry is launching the Hunger Can’t Wait tour, which will travel to five cities across the country, hosting special events from August 28 to September 17. The Habit kicked off the tour on August 28 with an event at its El Segundo, California restaurant.
“The sense of urgency around childhood hunger remains high, and that’s why it’s important to us to support No Kid Hungry. We are proud to have helped provide millions of nutritious meals to kids in need,” – Russ Bendel, CEO of The Habit Burger Grill.
While you’re at The Habit Burger Grill, be sure to try out the Golden Fried Chicken Salad For a limited time only, The Habit Burger is bringing back their delicious buttermilk battered, perfectly seasoned golden fried chicken and giving guests the option of ordering it on a sandwich or a salad. The Golden Fried Chicken Salad is inspired by the fan-favorite Golden Fried Chicken Sandwich, which permanently joined The Habit menu in late 2016. I was invited as a guest of Jimboy’s Tacos to dine in their new location in exchange for this review. All opinions are my own.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that one of my favorite things to do is share many of the foods I eat! We were invited to the soft opening of the newest Orange County Jimboy’s Tacos location in Brea, which is actually the 3rd Orange County location. (The other 2 are in Anaheim and Huntington Beach.) The official Grand Opening of the Brea location will be on Tuesday, August 28 and beginning at noon, guests will receive a free Original Ground Beef Taco with any in-store purchase!Join Jimboy’s Tacos in Giving Back
As a token of appreciation to their new community, Jimboy’s Tacos Brea will be partnering with Brea-based nonprofit, Together We Rise, for an in-store fundraiser on Wednesday, August 29. On that day, 20% of all proceeds will be donated back to the nonprofit organization, which works to improve the lives of children in foster care through collaborating with community partners, like Jimboy’s Tacos, to raise money to provide resources for foster youth and to educate volunteers on issues surrounding the foster care system.Jimboy’s Tacos first opened nearly 65 years ago as a simple food trailer on the shores of Lake Tahoe, CA. With sights set on serving the best tasting taco on the planet, founder Jim “Jimboy” Knudson created the Original Ground Beef Taco, which has not changed since it was first served in 1954, and remains the most popular item on their menu. This iconic taco is made fresh with seasoned ground beef, freshly shredded cheese, and lettuce encased in a crispy, stone-ground corn shell dusted with parmesan cheese. Yep, you read that correctly! PARMESAN CHEESE! Mmm, it’s sooo yummy!Another must-try item on Jimboy’s menu is the Taquito Burrito, a signature grilled burrito stuffed with three taquitos. The Taquito Burrito mash-up has led to the creation of a revolutionary “Craft Your Own Mash-Up” section of the Jimboy’s menu. Other menu items include loaded burritos, fresh salads, shareable bites like queso and chips, and several breakfast items.I LOVED the Tahoe Nachos, which are pictured above. They are definitely enough to share! Oh, and they also have desserts including churros and Choco-Tacos!Jimboy’s Tacos Brea is located at
2435 Imperial Highway in Brea, CA
In celebration of the newest Jimboy’s Tacos location, I’m also hosting a giveaway for one(1) of my readers to win a $50 Jimboy’s Tacos gift card! To enter, fill out the Rafflecopter below. Good luck everyone! Thanks again for reading!

I was invited to dine as a guest of Lucille’s in order to write this post. All opinions are my own.
During the month of April, Autism Awareness Month, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que, the family-owned, award-winning barbeque destination, has teamed up with three autism organizations to raise awareness and funds during the month of April to support the autism community. The three organizations include Autism Speaks, the Southwest Autism Research and Resource Center and the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation.Lucille’s will donate to these three worthy causes through Round It Up America contributions – in which guests “round up” their purchases to the nearest dollar – at all 23 Lucille’s locations throughout Arizona, California and Nevada during the month of April to support Autism Awareness month. For donations of $5 or more made during the month of April, Lucille’s will give guests a $10 bonus card good for a return visit between May 1 and June 30, 2018 (one per table, please). Lucille’s has been participating in Round It Up America, platform that encourages restaurant guests to donate change; over the past ten years, Round It Up America has collectively raised millions of dollars for charitable organizations and programs across the country. As another way to support these organizations, Lucille’s will be serving up a drink called the “Blue Bayou”, inspired by the color for autism awareness and is made from fresh blueberries & blackberries, 1800 Reposado and Coconut Tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice and agave nectar. For each Blue Bayou sold in April, Lucille’s will donate an additional $1 towards the cause.
“We first started this fundraiser in our Las Vegas restaurants in 2016 because this condition hits close to home for many at Lucille’s, employees and guests alike. We have since taken the fundraiser across all of our locations. We have seen that the Lucille’s community can make a difference when we come together for a common cause, and we know that this year will only prove the same for these three organizations.” – Brad Hofman, President, Hofman Hospitality Group
