Knott’s Season Pass

Celebrate the Season at Knott’s Merry Farm Beginning November 22

This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.
It’s almost time to celebrate the merriest of seasons at Knott’s Berry Farm as the park wondrously transforms into Knott’s Merry Farm, a Christmas celebration for all ages. You can come spend the most wonderful time of the year with your family at Knott’s Merry Farm enjoying thrilling holiday attractions, live entertainment, a Christmas Crafts Village, festive food, lavish holiday decorations, and nightly snow in Ghost Town, all beginning November 22!

I feel so lucky to live in Southern California where I can celebrate the holidays while still enjoying the beautiful sunny weather outside. I am all about making the most of this time of year with my family and Knott’s Merry Farm is an annual tradition for us. I’m not even sure if I’m most excited about the festive treats, the special holiday entertainment, visiting Santa (because he is there, too.) or just going on all of my favorite rides? Also, I get so excited to see what’s new each year.

Here are the special entertainment offerings you’ll find this year at Knott’s Merry Farm:

“Merry Christmas, Snoopy!” Ice Show (in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre) -Snoopy, the Peanuts, and a cast of world-class ice skaters perform in the spectacular ice show, “Merry Christmas, Snoopy!” in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre. During the show, filled with whimsy and spectacular skating, Snoopy enjoys all of the best parts of the season, including trimming the Christmas tree, awaiting Santa’s arrival, and attending the festive Christmas Ball! “Merry Christmas, Snoopy!” is performed on select days.“Home for the Holidays” (at the Calico Mine Stage) -Home for the Holidays is a joyous music review filled with singing, dancing and merriment of Christmas days of yore, including some of the best-loved perennial holiday tunes including, “There’s No Place Like Home For The Holidays,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Jingle Bells,” “Here We Come A-Caroling,” and many more. The Calico Mine Stage depicts a Winter Wonderland directly out of a Currie & Ives painting and is the ideal version of an old-fashioned holiday dream. The year is 1915 and the sounds and feelings of the holiday season surround the air. Home for the Holidays is the story of family, friends and holiday traditions.

“A Peanuts Guide to Christmas” (at the Camp Snoopy Theater) – The Peanuts Gang offer their take and unique wisdom on surviving the holidays, while singing you a mashup of their favorite holiday tunes. After the show, head right next door to the Peanuts Meet and Greet Area to take a picture with your favorite character.“Charles Dickens’A Christmas Carol” and “Marley’s Wings” (in the Bird Cage Theater)- Knott’s melodrama company brings to life Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and Marley’s Wings performances available on select dates during Knott’s Merry Farm. In Marley’s Wings, the Ghost of Jacob Marley returns to a wonderful new holiday musical that is destined to become a classic! One year ago, Marley appeared and appealed to Ebenezer Scrooge to mend his ways lest he suffer eternal torment in the form of chains forged by a life of greed and avarice. If Scrooge could truly change his ways for an entire year, Marley would not only be free of his chains; he would also gain his bona fide Angel’s Wings! On the surface, Ebenezer seems to have seen the light and made the necessary adjustments, with one glaring exception. Scrooge is struggling with finding and holding the true meaning of Christmas in his heart. He must grasp this essential message by midnight, or Marley will be grounded for all eternity. The Bird Cage piano will come alive with great new songs like “Raise the Rafters,” “Christmas in Heaven,” and “The Bah Hum Bug” to name a few. Marley is on a mission! With the help of this wonderful new musical score and audience energy, Scrooge’s transformation unfolds before our eyes. Will it be soon enough to deliver Marley’s wings? The clock is ticking…

Calico Saloon Christmas Show (Calico Saloon) – Cameo Kate and Dakota Dan invite you to their musical turn of the century holiday celebration. Head into the Calico Saloon, grab a boysenberry beer or sarsaparilla and watch a classical Old West revue show. Get ready for plenty of laughs and audience interaction in this toe-tapping, knee-slapping journey.

Snow and Glow Show (in Calico Ghost Town) – Every night during Merry Farm, when the sun sets on the Farm, the buildings and paths in Ghost Town’s Main Street and School House Road are filled with glow and snow! Thousands of sparkling lights dance to the beat of Christmas music while snow gently falls in this spectacular one-of-a-kind moment.

Calico Carolers (strolling throughout Ghost Town) – Be transported back in time to a Victorian Christmas by the Calico Carolers, Knott’s own vocal quartet, as they perform the songs of the season throughout Ghost Town. Warm up your vocal chords and join in on the fun by singing along to both classic and contemporary Christmas music presented in a timeless way.

Family Guide to Knott’s Ghost Town Alive Now Through 9/3

I was invited to a media day in the park in order to write this post. All opinions are my own.

One of our family’s favorite places to visit throughout the year is Knott’s Berry Farm. From Halloween time to Christmas to their annual Boysenberry Festival, there is always something fun happening at Knott’s. This summer, we added another favorite “season” to our list: summer time! Knott’s has a fun, interactive experience during summer, happening now through September 3, called Ghost Town Alive!   As you enter Calico Ghost Town in the morning, you’ll see the citizens getting ready to celebrate Founders Day. Park guests have the opportunity to interact with the citizens of Calico and spend the day living among them. You’ll literally feel as if you’ve stepped back in time and are living in the Wild West as you engage with the townsfolk, cowboys, bandits, judges, all kinds of other interesting people who live in the beloved town of Calico. There are so many fun ways to participate in all of the town’s happenings. You can become an honorary citizen of Calico and even help out in the town. Just make sure you stay on Sheriff Wheeler’s good side or you could end up in jail! Here are just some of the things you should do in Calico during Ghost Town Alive!:

  • Grab a copy of the Calico Gazette, hot off the press
  • Participate in the town election and vote for the Mayor
  • Witness a wedding in Town Hall
  • Stop by the Barbershop for a “shave” and a mustache
  • Help deliver a package from the Post Office
  • Visit the animals in the Livery Stable
  • Go to school in a one-room schoolhouse

Every evening, the town’s “story” culminates with a town-wide celebration in Calico Square at the town’s Hoedown. It’s so much fun for guests to dance and mingle with the folks of Calico. In addition to all of the fun happening in the town of Calico this summer, check out Knott’s great lineup of entertainment:

  • Beach Blanket Beagle – New this year! Relax in the air conditioning of the Charles M. Schulz Theatre and enjoy this musical dance party set to the classic beach comber tunes of the 60’s and 70’s, and stars the coolest beagle around, Snoopy! Showing select days June 9 – August 19.

  • Calico Saloon Show – Find this show in the heart and soul of the park in the Old West Ghost Town. Drop by the Calico Saloon for a demonstration in the finer points of the can-can or the musical mis-matchings of Cameo Kate and Dakota Dan.

Summer Is Here! Get to Knott’s! (Yes, It’s That Simple) #NewAtKnotts

Disclosure: The opinions in this article are 100% my own. I do not work for, or with, any brand mentioned in this article, nor do I have any official relationship with them. I have a relationship with GigaSavvy, for whom I create original editorial content.

After reading about all of the new things at Knott’s this summer, I was beyond excited to be attending their Summer Media Day to kick of my summer. I could barely sleep past 5 a.m. that morning! As I sipped my morning coffee in my favorite Peanuts mug, I put together a list of things I wanted to accomplish that day. I think it’s good to set goals, even if they are “Knott’s Goals”, right?

knotts-goals-for-todayWith my need to be matchy-matchy all the time and deep love for the Peanuts gang, I had already purchased the cutest little Snoopy knapsack the day before, along with a box of Peanuts bandages.

snoopy-knapsackSo, I proceeded to pack new my knapsack full of park necessities because I was planning for a marathon of a day. Yeah, I’m a planner AND a packer!

summer-media-dayOne of the most special parts about this particular visit to Knott’s was that I got to spend the day with my dad. I hadn’t been to Knott’s with my dad since I was a little girl! We used to visit every summer and he was the one that took me on my first upside-down rollercoaster there, “Corkscrew”! It’s not there any more but Knott’s holds a special place in my heart and that’s one of the reasons.

how-cute-is-my-dadMy dad knew JUST what I needed when we got through Calico Ghost Town….a grande, nonfat, boysenberry latte WITH whipped cream! Knott’s serves Starbucks. This particular flavor of drink is exclusive to Knott’s and you can grab one of our own at the Gourmet Coffee Hut. In addition to their extensive drink menu, you can also choose from a variety of yummy pastries!

knotts-starbucks-boysenberry-latte

After enjoying our Starbucks, we were ready to take on the latest attraction to open at Knott’s: Voyage to the Iron Reef! This brand new attraction opened on May 15 and I was dying to go on it since I’d heard it’s really cool.

knotts-iron-reef Voyage to the Iron Reef is a 4-D interactive adventure that has you taking on The Kraken Queen and her aquatic army, all while wearing 3-D glasses and going head-to-head with your friends for the highest score!

It was a REALLY cool experience and we kept getting back into line because we were on a quest to beat our previous high scores. When you exit, you can see your scores. I don’t mean to brag but check out my score from my first time!

my-first-timeNext, we were ready to preview the all-new Blockbuster Beagle…on Ice! What a treat, considering I usually only see Snoopy on Ice shows during Knott’s Merry Farm! If you’ve never seen any of the Snoopy on Ice shows in the Charles M. Schultz Theatre, not only are they adorable, but the skaters are incredibly talented!

blockbuster-beagleIn this new production, Snoopy and his Peanuts buddies “go Hollywood“, bringing Walk of Fame glamour, dazzling movie lot escapades, and California excitement to a brand new ice show adventure.

pairI enjoyed the show immensely. The music is so good and there is so much going on the entire time. I need to go back to watch it a couple more times because it’s just that good!

This is where a Knott’s Season Pass comes in handy! With this much stuff to see and do at Knott’s. you can keep going back when you have a Season Pass because there are no blockout dates. With Knott’s Soak City open, a Gold Pass is even more ideal. Unlimited visits to Knott’s AND entry to Soak City? Yes, please!

vertical-impactAnother cool show I got to watch for the first time was Vertical Impact! I squeezed myself into the middle of the anxious crowd in Calico Square, who were all waiting to watch this ultimate blend of extreme stunts with high flying acrobats performing a one-of-a-kind performance. This high energy show is set to the most popular songs of today, combining everything from trampoline stunts, BMX, skaters, dancers, and aerialists.

I think my mouth kept dropping open watching the amazing performers!

There are so many things to do at Knott’s this summer! Fun on all of the rides, yummy food to eat, and  TONS of shows to see, too! Summer nights at Knott’s are one of my favorite parts about summer, especially when they’re spent with friends!
