LEGOLAND® Castle Hotel at LEGOLAND® California Resort Set to Open April 27 + Now Taking Reservations

If you haven’t heard the latest exciting news to come out of LEGOLAND® California Resort, they broke ground last year on North America’s first LEGOLAND® Castle Hotel! It’s like every LEGO-loving kid’s dream come true! The all-new premium themed hotel, located right at the main entrance of LEGOLAND California, is officially set to open on April 27!

The LEGOLAND Castle Hotel will include will feature 250 premium LEGO Castle themed rooms with your choice of Knights & Dragons, Royal Princess or Magic Wizard, including 20 suites, and will completely immerse guests into a castle experience from the moment they enter the grand hall. Hotel guests will experience dining in an amazing sit- down royal restaurant and engage in courtyard entertainment by the pool.Here’s a short video showing a brief hardhat tour of the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel:

Upon entering LEGOLAND Castle Hotel, guests will first step into a grand hall where they are met by a LEGO wizard before taking a magical levitating lift (elevator) that will take them to one of three different floors where adventures await.

In the Knight rooms, guests are surrounded by dragons and knights as they prepare to go into battle to defend the king’s castle and protect the king’s treasure. In the Princess rooms, woodland animals such as butterflies, squirrels, owls and song birds all made of LEGO, of course, are found. In the Wizard rooms, guests discover how magic is used to protect the king’s treasure with the use of giggling potions and spells. Guests will find LEGO Castle décor throughout.

The Royal Courtyard outside is designed to immerse children in a fairy tale of their own creation with a DUPLO play area for the younger kids, larger play structures for the older kids, giant movie screen for nighttime movies and a stage for live plays and shows.The pool area will feature fountains and other interactive water features a gradual incline pool and hot tub. The pool bar and grill will offer smoothies, sandwiches and salads prepared fresh to order.Other unique, fun features at the hotel include a slide that will connect the lobby to the first floor and a knock knock door created to entertain guests. More than 2,100 LEGO models made out of more than three million LEGO bricks that will be featured inside the rooms and throughout the Hotel.

The all-new themed restaurant, Dragon’s Den Restaurant & Bar, will be LEGOLAND California Resort’s only full-service sit down restaurant and will include an open kitchen for guests to watch chefs preparing their food, LEGO models, entertainers and locally-sourced food creating a unique dining experience. Breakfast will be included with each guest’s stay and includes made-to-order items along with a buffet.

Dine With Orcas® Dining Experience at SeaWorld San Diego

Our family loves to go on new adventures and experience all there is to do here in Southern California. We recently took a drive down south for the day to visit SeaWorld San Diego. It’s just about an hour drive from Orange County, where we reside.I love the fact that you have so many options of things to do at SeaWorld. Not only do they offer a large selection of educational exhibits and shows in the park but there are also a bunch of thrilling attractions to check out. (Manta, the attraction, is a must!)On our visit, which included tweens, we found that there’s something for everyone in your family to enjoy in the park and on this visit, we were invited to an extra special experience. “Dine With Orcas®” is a special ticketed event is an hour long experience where guests get to enjoy a delicious chef-crafted meal, on a private poolside patio, next to Orca whales. It’s an immersive and memorable family dining experience that allows you to discover what makes killer whales so unique from a presentation given by SeaWorld’s behaviorists.The meal is set up buffet-style, with gourmet offerings for both adults and children. I was elated to have so many wonderful food choices. The culinary team at SeaWorld goes above and beyond with the food. The menu can change seasonally and we got to try the Fall/Winter menu which includes:

What beautiful animals! Our family enjoyed this experience immensely and I’d say it’s a definite “must-do” to add to your day at SeaWorld San Diego.Dine With Orcas is open 7 days a week. and advance reservations are highly recommended, because some seatings tend to sell out quickly. However, if space is available, “day of” reservations can be made at the ticket booths or Guest Services just inside the park.Book now; this is an exclusive, up close, experience you won’t want to miss!Here are a couple of “Know Before You Go” tips for you:

I suggest recommend arriving 15-30 minutes prior to your time to get in line. This may you have the best chance of getting a table closest to the window.
You can get $5 off the price of an adult ticket for “Dine With Orcas” when you purchase yours online here before your visit.
The price of your meal includes non-alcoholic drink options. However, beer and wine are available for purchase as well.
Gratuity is not included in the price of your meal so remember to bring cash tip your server. (Ours worked so hard)

LEGOLAND® California Resort Unveils New LEGO One World Trade Center in Miniland U.S.A.!

LEGOLAND® California Resort unveiled new LEGO models, featuring One World Trade Center, in the New York skyline section of its Miniland U.S.A. with a special ribbon cutting ceremony. Present at the unveiling were some of Carlsbad’s own “Hometown Heroes” from the Carlsbad Police and Fire Departments. Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty also joined the festivities and danced up on stilts while a brass band played for guests and red, white, and blue confetti flew in the air at the finale of the ribbon cutting ceremony. The new One World Trade Center model at LEGOLAND® California Resort is now North America’s tallest LEGO^® model. It stands tall and proud in the center of Miniland U.S.A. and was constructed using over 250,000 LEGO Bricks. The model stands 26 feet tall and weighs more than 1000 pounds. It took 8 Master Model Builders over 1200 hours to complete the model!

For the first time ever, guests can use a special LEGO tower viewer, giving them a skyscraper view of Miniland U.S.A. The area also features LEGO model replicas of the 9/11 Memorial’s twin reflecting pools, the grove of memorial trees and the impressive World Trade Center Transportation Hub. The updated NYC area of Miniland U.S.A. is now open for guests to stop by and pay tribute to. With the upcoming July 4th Holiday, there’s never been a more perfect time to visit the Park. The new LEGO models and Independence Day event are included with the price of admission to LEGOLAND California Resort. LEGOLAND® California Resort will be having its annual the Resort’s Red White and Boom! 4th of the July celebration. 2015 Holiday Snow Days + Winter Nights at LEGOLAND California Through January 3

One of the advantages to living in Southern California is the getting to celebrate the holidays at LEGOLAND® California while getting a tan! Their annual winter celebration, Holiday Snow Days + Winter Nights is so much fun and having snow to play in while visiting the Park makes the day even “cooler”! Now through Jan.3, 2016, LEGOLAND® guests can enjoy seasonal treats and food offerings, holiday entertainment, festive decor, and family fun snow play activities. The Holiday Snow Days + Winter Nights activities are included in the price of your regular admission ticket! This year’s event promises more snow play areas than ever before, too. In addition to snow play, our LEGO^® Christmas Tree, and holiday treats.. Guests can also enjoy Holiday Fireworks at 7pm on December 26-30th nightly fireworks from Dec. 26 through Dec. 31, 2015. As you enter the Park’s Fun Town area, you’ll see that it’s been transformed into a winter wonderland with beautiful decor throughout, as well as giant LEGO^® Christmas Tree in the center of it all. The LEGO Christmas tree stands more than 30-feet-tall, is made of more than 245,000 forest green DUPLO bricks and is adorned with more than 400 LEGO ornaments including special movie clapper ornaments in honor of “The LEGO® Movie 4D A New Adventure” premiering Feb. 6 at LEGOLAND California, The tree is surrounded by packages and LEGO characters the whole family can enjoy. 7 Reasons YOU Should Go To Brick-or-Treat Party Nights At LEGOLAND® California Resort

LEGOLAND® California’s Brick-or-Treat Party Nights are well under way and we’ve already been two weekends in a row! Yep, we loved it so much the opening weekend that we returned last weekend for a 2nd time! The not-too-spooky Halloween party in the park welcomes guests of all ages to enjoy extra special time in the park, from 5 to 9 p.m. but guests who purchased wristbands, can actually enter the park starting at 4 p.m. LEGOLAND is only a hop, skip & a jump from Orange County and Los Angeles, so it’s not a bad drive at all!

Brick-or-Treat Party Nights tickets are offered at a great price!

For being the biggest kids’ Halloween celebration in San Diego , Brick-or-Treat Party Nights ticket is offered at a great price! If you just want to attend the event, itself, from 5 to 9 p.m., it’s $45 per person if you buy it that day at LEGOLAND. However, you can also buy tickets online and in advance for $35, which is highly recommended.

Passholders are also offered Brick-or-Treat ticktets at a discount. California Annual Pass and Merlin Annual Pass Standard Members can upgrade to purchase a Brick-or-Treat Party Nights event ticket at a discounted price, while event admission is free for Merlin Annual Pass Premium Members, Ambassador and Ambassador Resort Members.

Everyone is welcome to dress up AND there’s a COOL costume contest with prizes!

It’s fun to have the option of dressing up for the occasion with the entire family! I saw all kinds of costumes in the park, ranging from really intricate ones to simple costumes. I also saw people in regular clothes or just wearing a Halloween shirt. Overall, it’s a fun and casual environment and because it’s in Southern California & it’s beautiful weather regardless. (I recommend bringing a light jacket.)

The Costume Contest is open to children 12 and under. Guests must be present at the Miniland Stage at the scheduled time for your registered costume contest category. A new contest for each of the three category themes will be held each Brick-or-Treat Party Night in October 3,10, 17, 24, 30 from 5pm-9pm. Participants must sign up at the registration table in the Model Shop Alcove no later than 15 minutes before each contest starts.

There’s REALLY GOOD trick-or-treating and an all-new Candy Quest interactive adventure!

You can grab an empty bag at one of the candy stations and fill it up! There are stations located throughout the park, as well as 2 BONUS treat stations inside SEA LIFE® Aquarium, which is also part of this event. Look for the “Boo Crew” as they will be handing out treats to guests including: a Brick-or-Treat Commemorative Brick, a Brick-or-Treat Hat, a LEGO® Magazine, a LEGO® City Collector Magazine, Clif Kids, Clif Kid Z-Bar, and a Shutterfly^®promotional card.

You also won’t want to miss the all-new Candy Quest, which is located inside of Adventurers Club! It’s an interactive walk through where kids will meet characters and receive more treats for their trick or treat bags!

This year there are new roaming candy carts this year, where kids can gather treats and other surprises from trail partners: Shutterfly^®, LEGO®, Clif Kids™, Honest Kids^®, Red Vines^®, SMARTCANDY^® and and Airheads^®.

Trick or Treat Tip: We spent the last 20 minutes just going from station to station and filling up our bags because by that time, there weren’t many people in lines!

You can still access all of the regular attractions!

Guests can enjoy all of the regular attractions during Brick-or-Treat Party Nights because they’re all open. There’s even a special Halloween version of “Coast Cruise” as it’s transformed into “Ghost Cruise” just for the event. Note: Splash Battle, Pirate Reef and Soak ~N~ Sail will be close at 6:00 pm each evening. (Some rides subject to ride closure)

LEGO^®Friends Heartlake City has a special Fall Festival!

If you haven’t had the opportunity to visit LEGOLAND California’s newest themed area, it’s called ” LEGO^®Friends Heartlake City” and it’s adorable! Young guests will find that some of their favorite LEGO sets have come to life!

For Brick-or-Treat Party Nights, Heartlake City is having a Fall Festival where you can enjoy a Bluegrass Band, LEGO Friends Meet and Greets, interactive, Not-So-Scary Storytelling at Village Theater, and a LEGO Pumpkin Patch Free Build inside Heartlake City Stables

There’s a TON of live entertainment and shows at Brick-or-Treat Party Nights!

Guests in the park can enjoy a special shows, hands on activities, and live entertainment during Brick-or-Treat Party Nights! There are two fun shows in the Courtyard Theater Stage on Castle Hill. “Mail Order Monsters” and “The Witchettes” have several shows each night. (see guide for times) Also enjoy “Monster Fighter Mash” and the Ultimate Dance Party over on Miniland Stage. Continue dancing the night away at Hubble Bubble’s Dance Party AND at Wanda’s Jellyfish Disco inside Sea Life Aquarium.

Throughout the park, there are roaming entertainers including stilt walkers, ball walkers, and even unicyclists.

It’s a chance to create more family memories together!

For me, the most important reason why I think you should attend Brick-or-Treat Party Nights this weekend is because it’s another chance for you to create more family memories together! I am all about making memories that will last a lifetime! Don’t forget to bring your camera because there are lots of photo opportunities in the park for your memory books!

LEGOLAND® California Resort Spins Out A New Ninjago™ Land Featuring Ninjago™- The Ride, Opening 2016!!! It’s Going to Be the Year of the Ninja!

On Thursday, September 17, the media anxiously awaited in the theater atLEGOLAND® California Resort for some exciting announcements revealing the latest details about the addition of a new NINJAGO™ land coming in 2016 and introducing, NINJAGO™- The Ride.

Taiko drummers, ninja warriors and a Spinjitzu Master filled the theater with energy and got the crowd as LEGOLAND® California Resort announced After sharing the successes of 2015, General Manager Peter Ronchetti offered details of the exciting new land and unmasked the new ride which features technology guests have never experienced at any other theme park in the world.

Guests will enter the new NINJAGO land through a giant archway behind Imagination Zone leading them into a courtyard where they begin their ninja training. The new land features LEGO® building stations, a game to test reflexes, spinners to test balance, Asian cuisine and a new shopping venue. Interactive experiences will test guests’ physical skills, balance and agility before they can prep for their ultimate training session: NINJAGO – The Ride.

NINJAGO – The Ride is manufactured by Triotech, world leader in media based interactive attractions, and features cutting-edge technology that enables guests to control the outcome of their adventure through the power of their hand gestures. Through 3D imagery, high-tech sensors and the use of hand movements in a striking motion, up to four riders per car, representing the four main NINJAGO characters, can blast animated fireballs, lightning, shockwaves and ice as they travel through dojos to master their skills before heading into battle. Riders collect points for their training and battle efforts throughout the ride and scores are displayed when their quest is completed. 4D effects such as heat, smoke and wind are also incorporated throughout the adventure, giving guests the ultimate interactive experience.

NINJAGO –The Ride will be the ultimate experience providing interactive fun for all,” said Ronchetti.

Based on the popular property LEGO® NINJAGO™, which is brought to life by The LEGO Group® through a line of construction toys and a TV series on Cartoon Network, guests will enjoy interactive elements and this new ride featuring key characters. LEGO NINJAGO tells the story of four young ninja heroes – Kai, Jay, Cole and Zane – who train under the watchful eye of Master Wu to master an ancient martial art – Spinjitzu. LEGO NINJAGO is one of the most successful LEGO properties. This year, brand new episodes of the popular series, NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu, aired on Cartoon Network and 22 new building sets loaded with features and functions were released.
