Make the Most of Your Night at Knott’s Scary Farm with the Fast & Fright Lane Pass

I was hosted for a night at Knott’s Scary Farm in exchange for this post. All opinions are my own.

Let’s talk about Knott’s Scary Farm. Have you ever been before to this extremely popular & terrifying event here in Southern California? ? It’s so scary and also so much fun! This year, Knott’s Scary Farm’s lineup includes 9 terrifying mazes to take on,, special shows and frightening experiences just for Knott’s Scary Farm nights, 100s of roaming monsters and ghosts roaming the streets of Ghost Town and the other Scare Zones plus tons of attractions to ride.  There’s a lot to tackle between the hours of 7pm and 2am (It closes at 1am on some nights.)We had the opportunity to experience Knott’s Scary Farm in a whole new way: with a Fright & Fast Lane Pass! It was a game-changer and that’s no exaggeration! Some nights at Knott’s Scary Farm draw pretty large crowds, especially as it gets closer to Halloween. The Fast & Fright Lane add-on option is available for guests to upgrade their regular Knott’s Scary Farm ticket .I would highly recommend adding on Fright & Fast Lane to your Knott’s Scary Farm ticket because it definitely helps you make the most of your night. What is a Fright & Fast Lane Pass?
This special pass, available as an add-on to your Knott’s Scary Farm ticket (see pricing HERE) grants you unlimited priority access to all 9 mazes and unlimited priority boarding to  the 13 regular Fast Lane attractions. It’s good for a single night at Knott’s Scary Farm and totally worth it!

Here are the 2018 Mazes included in Fright & Fast Lane :

  • Trick or Treat
  • The Depths (new for this year)
  • Paranormal, Inc.
  • Dark Entities  (new for this year)
  • Special Ops: Infected
  • The Red Barn
  • Dark Ride
  • Shadow Lands
  • Pumpkin Eater

These are the Fast Lane attractions you’ll have unlimited, priority boarding to:

  • GhostRider
  • Voyage to the Iron Reef
  • Pony Express
  • Xcelerator
  • Supreme Scream
  • Montezuma’s Revenge
  • Sierra Sidewinder
  • Halloween Hootenanny (aka Timber Mountain Log Ride)
  • Silver Bullet
  • Calico Mine Ride
  • Coast Rider
  • Jaguar!
  • HangTime

How does Fright & Fast Lane work?
The best way to purchase a Fright & Fast Lane pass is beforehand and online. After you purchase it, you print out the confirmation and bring it with you to the Park where you’ll exchange it for a wristband at Guest Relations. The wristband must be kept on the entire night and you’ll be asked to show it at the entrance to each maze and/or attraction you wish priority access to. Each member in your party must purchase their own Fright & Fast lane wristband in order to gain the priority entry to mazes and attractions. Is Fright & Fast Lane worth it?
With the Fright & Fast Lane wristbands, our family was able to get through all nine of the mazes in a little less than 4 hours. We actually did a few of them twice! We still had plenty of time for riding attractions (Have you gone on HangTime at night yet?), exploring all of the Scare Zones and getting chased by the monsters and also time for some of our favorite Knott’s treats. It’s totally worth it! Knott’s offers “Scary Farm” Packages
Did you know that Knott’s offers packages that include your Knott’s Scary Farm ticket and a Fright & Fast Lane wristband? For information about it, please go HERE. Also, don’t forget to purchase your Knott’s Scary Farm parking online (beforehand) HERE to save money on it. Guests can also book a hotel package at Knott’s Berry Farm Hotel, which is adjacent to the park. More information about hotel packages can be found HERE.

We had a blast checking out Knott’s Scary Farm this year and having the opportunity to take our daughter for her first experience. It’s recommended for guests 13 years and older. In my opinion, there are some 13 year olds who can handle it but there also may be some who are not yet ready. Some of the stuff you see and experience is really scary so just take that into consideration when deciding if it’s right for your own child.Knott’s Scary Farm Tip #1: Arrive early and they’ll let you into the front of the Park before 7pm. Then you can take some photos before all of the madness starts! Look for the cute backdrops right at the entrance. FunPix photographers are also on-hand taking pics. FunPix which is something you can add-on to your experience and have access to all of your event and ride photos.

Knott’s Scary Farm Tip #2: Dress for the weather. Since this event is held at night, dress accordingly. Also, remember your feet. If you wear comfy, closed toe shoes, your feet will thank you. Knott’s Scary Farm even happens in the rain so be sure to bring a sweatshirt or jacket with you in case it rains. Also, the shops sell plastic ponchos if it does start raining.

A very special THANK YOU to Knott’s for hosting our family at Knott’s Scary Farm. It was such a fun night taking our daughter for her first time and we can’t wait to return again! For more information about Knott’s Scary Farm, go HERE.

Help Wipe Out Breast Cancer at Valvoline Instant Oil Change Locations

I partnered with Valvoline Instant Oil Change for this post.  All opinions are my own.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I’ve already seen the color pink popping up everywhere. From pink ribbons to special pink products in stores to sporting teams wearing uniforms with something pink on them, so many are showing their support for a great cause.Did you know this year, 252, 000 women will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer? That is a scary statistic, which is also why you need to make sure to do monthly self-examinations on your breasts and keep current on your mammograms. Speaking of…when’s the last time you did a self breast examination? Also, are you current on your mammograms? I really appreciate brands that go the extra mile to support great causes , so when I had the opportunity to partner with Vavoline Instant Oil Change to share about their “Wipe Out Breast Cancer” campaign, I was “in”.  VIOC is selling AutoTex PINK Wipers throughout October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with proceeds going to National Breast Cancer Foundation.Lucky for me, there’s a Valvoline Instant Oil Change super close to my home. If you’ve never been to one before, it’s a full service 15-minute drive thru oil change with no appointment needed. You basically stay in your car during the entire service. It’s very easy for busy people and moms like me, especially if you have your kids in tow. VIOC does much more than just oil changes though. They also perform many other services including:

Save Money on Your Next Service at Valvoline Instant Oil Change
Right now, you can stop by your local VIOC, save money on a service by using the coupon  I’ve posted below and pick up a pair of full Pink Wipers or Black Wipers with a small pink ribbon to have installed on your vehicle, to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The wiper blades fit 98% of cars, trucks and SUVs manufactured after 2003 and are available at participating VIOC locations. Check HERE if your local VIOC is participating in this promotion. What’s amazing about this campaign is that VIOC has raised over $86,500 for NBCF through this campaign to date. I’m excited to see the final dollar amount. This is obviously a cause that so many of us are passionate about, all for different reasons and personal connections. On October 19th, National Mammography Day, Valvoline Instant Oil Change is making a
double donation on all wipers sold that day. It’s the perfect day to stop by.

Small Plates and Sips at MainPlace Mall’s CPK + Enter to Win a Gift Card

I was invited to dine at CPK as a guest of MainPlace Mall in exchange for my coverage. All opinions are my own.

Let’s talk about food. It seems to be one of my favorite topics and if you follow me on my Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter, you already know how much I love to share about food. So if someone invites me to dine out somewhere, you can 500% guarantee I’m going to be all over that! And that very thing happened a couple weeks ago.MainPlace Mall extended an invitation for us to come and dine at their CPK location.  I was excited to head over after work one day. Have you been over to MainPlace Mall recently? It’s located in Santa Ana and has been undergoing a bit of “facelift” lately, a sign of the times. As a teen, many of us enjoyed roaming around MainPlace Mall with our friends, and now the mall is basically growing up, right along with us. I like the idea of the transformation into more of a lifestyle center, offering shopping, dining and family entertainment too. It’s also centrally located in the city and is within close proximity to many of the city’s museums and other hot spots. CPK, otherwise known as California Pizza Kitchen. is just one of MainPlace’s dining options and is located in the “Patio Restaurants” area of the mall. Did I mention how convenient it was for me to pull up and park super close and just go right in? Other eateries in this section of the mall include:

  • Lucille’s Smokehouse BBQ
  • Wokcano
  • Applebee’s
  • Panini Kabob Grill

What I love about eating at CPK is whether you are stopping by for lunch, dinner or even small plates and sips after work, the food is always consistently fabulous because they strive to create unique dishes, using the freshest ingredients. You can actually taste how much care they’ve put into creating your made-to-order meal.CPK offers teas, sodas and other non-alcoholic options, as well as a full bar and beer and wine. We started the meal with a Cucumber Reviver, which is made with freshly puréed pineapple & cucumber with Monin. torn mint and agave sour and then topped with sparkling water. We also ordered a Sparkling Cranberry Cooler which is made with cranberry juice, sparkling water and fresh lime. These non-alcoholic drink options feel like a celebration any time of year.We decided to go with a few of CPK’s Small Plates and Appetizers to share, in lieu of ordering traditional meals. Do you ever do that? Maybe add in a cup of soup or a salad too? It’s fun to change it up. We tried to order things off the menu we hadn’t tasted before. If you ask me to choose which of these was my most favorite menu item, I wouldn’t be able to decide as they were all fabulous. Here’s what we tried:

  • Mexican Street Corn – This spin on a traditional favorite is made with creamy, sweet corn that’s been removed from the cob and roasted with smoked paprika, Feta and Parmesan. It’s served with fresh cilantro, lime and house-made Ranchito Sauce.
  • Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower – At first I wondered how this would even be a menu item and then I tasted it! Oh my goodness, it’s so good! Made with fresh cauliflower florets that are battered and fried to a golden brown. Then it’s tossed in house-made Sriracha buffalo sauce and topped with a salad of celery, cilantro, scallions and Gorgonzola.
  • Crispy Mac N’ Cheese – This is a twist on a classic dish. This mac n’ cheese is lightly fried with Panko and served on creamy cheese sauce.
  • Spinach Artichoke Dip – This is generally one of my family’s favorite appetizers and we make it all the time at home but we’d never tried CPK’s. It did not disappoint. It’s served hot with house-made blue and white corn tortilla chips.

We thoroughly enjoyed each of these are were so full after finishing them. However, it just seems unjust not to finish off a great meal with dessert. So we ordered one Butter Cake and a Brownie with Vanilla Häagen-Dazs on top from the Kids Menu. There’s always room for dessert, right? After we finished our meal, we took on the rest of MainPlace Mall for some serious shopping. I love the history of this mall as it has remained an integral part of the Santa Ana landscape over the years. It’s such a comfortable and inviting place to gather with friends and family for shopping, dining and entertainment. You should stop by and check it out soon!

MainPlace Mall is located at
2800 N Main St.
Santa Ana, CA 92705

I’m hosting a giveaway for one (1) of my readers to win a $25 gift card to CPK. To enter my giveaway, fill out the Rafflcopter below. Good luck everyone!

Watch the New Trailer for Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch

This is not a sponsored post. All opinions are my own.
I always get excited when the holiday season rolls around but this year I’m extra excited!  Illumination and Universal Pictures will present “The Grinch” this November, their eighth fully animated feature, based on Dr. Seuss’ beloved holiday classic. The Grinch tells the story of a cynical grump who goes on a mission to steal Christmas, only to have his heart changed by a young girl’s generous holiday spirit. Funny, heartwarming and visually stunning, it’s a universal story about the spirit of Christmas and the indomitable power of optimism. Watch the trailer:

Academy Award® nominee Benedict Cumberbatch lends his voice to the infamous Grinch, who lives a solitary life inside a cave on Mt. Crumpet with only his loyal dog, Max, for company. With a cave rigged with inventions and contraptions for his day-to-day needs, the Grinch only sees his neighbors in Who-ville when he runs out of food.

Each year at Christmas they disrupt his tranquil solitude with their increasingly bigger, brighter and louder celebrations. When the Whos declare they are going to make Christmas three times bigger this year, the Grinch realizes there is only one way for him to gain some peace and quiet: he must steal Christmas. To do so, he decides he will pose as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, even going so far as to trap a lackadaisical misfit reindeer to pull his sleigh.

Meanwhile, down in Who-ville, Cindy-Lou Who—a young girl overflowing with holiday cheer—plots with her gang of friends to trap Santa Claus as he makes his Christmas Eve rounds so that she can thank him for help for her overworked single mother. As Christmas approaches, however, her good-natured scheme threatens to collide with the Grinch’s more nefarious one. Will Cindy-Lou achieve her goal of finally meeting Santa Claus? Will the Grinch succeed in silencing the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all?

So how great is Christmas season 2018 going to be now? The Grinch hits theaters November 9 and you can bet I’ll be there to watch it that day! For more information and to view the latest updates on this film please visit http://www.grinchmovie.com.
