Knott’s All Day Dining Plan

We recently enjoyed a “Sunday Funday” at Knott’s Berry Farm and were there from park opening to park closing. There’s just so much to see and do there, especially right now during their 75th Anniversary Celebration of Ghost Town. Have you been yet? If you haven’t, you must make it there before September 5, when it all ends. knotts-ghost-town-celebration-newspaper

When you spend that long in the park, you’re going to eat more than one meal there. Did you know that Knott’s offers an All Day Dining Plan? It’s a great deal because for only $31.99 per person, you can enjoy one select entree and one side (drink not included) from any of the participating dining locations in the Park.

Here’s a list of the participating dining locations and the meal choices:

  • Sutter’s Grill (located in Ghost Town) – Cheeseburger, Buffalo Style Breaded Chicken Sandwich, Chicken Tenders, Western BBQ Bacon Burger, Caesar Salad
  • Bigfoot Broiler (located in Ghost Town) – Cheeseburger, Foot Long Hot Dog, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Caesar Salad
  • Grizzly Creek Lodge (located in Camp Snoopy) – Cheeseburger, Chicken Tenders, Jumbo Hot Dog, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza Wedge & Side Salad, Caesar Salad
  • Boardwalk BBQ (located on the Boardwalk) –  Cheeseburger, Jumbo Hot Dog, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza Wedge & Side Salad, Caesar Salad
  • Coaster’s Diner (located on the Boardwalk) –  Cheeseburger, Southwest Burger, Chicken Tenders, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Caesar Salad
  • Hollywood Hits (located on the Boardwalk) – Cheese or Pepperoni Pizza Wedge & Side Salad
  • Cantina (located in Fiesta Village) – Tostada Salad with beans & rice, Grande Burrito with beans & rice, Two Tacos with beans & rice, Caesar Salad

knotts-dining-plan-cheeseburgerThe easiest way to add the All Day Dining Plan is to purchase yours online, before your visit. After you purchase the option online, you print out your voucher and take it to one of the participating dining locations, where you’ll receive a wristband. During operating hours, the wristband entitles you to dine every 90 minutes if you desire. knotts-dining-plan-chickenWouldn’t it be fun to spend an entire day at Knott’s, just eating every 90 minutes? Ok, I’m just joking. knotts-souvenir-bottleThe All Day Dining Plan doesn’t include drinks but I need to share one of the best drink deals in the Park with you! You can purchase a 2016 Souvenir Bottle for only $14.99 and get free drink refills the entire day! It’s a great deal and we used it in between meals to carry around ice water, which they’d also refill for us. It’s almost always hot outside in Southern California so having the option to get a cold, icy drink constantly refilled was a life-saver. Also, if you purchase it online before your visit, it’s only $10.99! knotts-souvenir-bottle-2For more information about Knott’s All Day Dining Plan or general park information, go here.

Anaheim Welcomes a Brand New Northgate Market And It’s Beautiful!

This post was sponsored by Gigasavvy. All opinions are 100% my own

A brand-new Northgate Market opened in Anaheim on July 20th and it’s beautiful! I don’t often use that word to describe a grocery store but in this case, it’s completely appropriate!northgate-market-truckNorthgate decided to throw a giant community party in the parking lot, in honor of the Grand Opening and generously offered to provide the first 300 customers in line with a free bag of groceries.northgate-market-communityThere must have been about 1000 people in that line and it turns out that 100 more free bags of groceries were handed out additional guests, making 400 recipients total. That is so generous!northgate-market-folkloricoSeveral sponsors were also on hand at the event, greeting shoppers in the line outside, as well as pass out goodies to them. Inside the store, there was mariachi music and folklórico dancers continuing the celebration.

Have YOU Heard of Northgate Markets?
If you aren’t familiar with Northgate Markets yet, they are successful group of grocery stores run by the Gonzalez Reynoso Family.through-their-history Their stores are known for offering a sizable section of domestic and imported Latin American grocery goods to customers, however, they also offer so much more than that. (Keep reading to learn more.) Personally, I love to give my business to establishments that are not only family run, but run based on family values.

Northgate Markets Have Evolved
If you saw any of the pictures I posted on my Instagram during the Grand Opening celebration, you got a peek inside how wonderful all of the store’s offerings are. I had more than one person bring up the topic of speaking Spanish or needing to speak Spanish to go into this market. I’m bilingual, and speak fluent Spanish, but  I can assure you that you don’t need to Speak Spanish to shop at Northgate. Also, you’ll notice that the labels, signs, and even store advertisements are also printed in both Spanish and English.northgate-market-bilingual-signsAfter touring and shopping at this store, I could see how considerate they were in planning what to offer customers. I was pleasantly surprised to see an extensive variety of organic fruits and vegetables, in addition to other sought-after organic foods.-northgate-market-organic-produceI was amazed when I passed several different sections of Grab-n-Go items, including family meals. There were salads, cut up fruit, sandwiches, tamales, sopas, so many choices! I wish I worked next door so I could come over at lunch and “Grab n’ Go” every day!

5 Things That Wow-ed Me About Northgate Market!
I don’t even know where to start with this. The entire store is amazing! In addition to regular and Latin American groceries, the store also has several specialty food areas. Here are just 5 of my favorite areas in the store:

  • The amazing produce section which features a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, including organics, and offering some exotic and hard-to-find items. I should also mention how great the produce prices are. Just look at the prices on the signs in my pictures!

  •  The seafood selection and ceviche bar is the place for seafood lovers to come. There’s a huge selection of all kinds of fish, ceviche, and even sushi! northgate-market-seafood-and-cevichenorthgate-market-more-seafood
  • Guacamole made to order (that you can sample) and a salsa bar northgate-market-guacamole-and-salsa-bar

  • The in-store working tortilleria was where I spent a good amount of time. It’s so much fun to see exactly how the tortillas are made from masa to where they’re packaged. You can even sample fresh, hot tortillas out of the oven. It’s the place many shoppers come when they’re looking for the freshest ingredients for their authentic meals. northgate-market-tortillerianorthgate-market-fresh-tortillas
  • The coffee bar is located at the front of the store and offers a variety of coffees and drinks. It’s the perfect place to grab “cafe para llevar” or “coffee to go” at the beginning of your shopping trip! By the way, they also sell Pan Dulce here, in case you can’t make it to the other side of the store where the panderia is! northgate-market-cafe-para-llevar-signnorthgate-market-cafe-para-llevar
  • I think my most favorite part of the store was the panaderia/bakery area! I have a big sweet tooth and a weekness for pan dulce. Between the smells of freshly baked break, the case of freshly baked cookies, and all of the other goodies, this was the place I spent the most time in the store!

northgate-market-galletasnorthgate-market-pan-dulcenorthgate-market-cookieSo, if I haven’t made it clear yet, you need to stop by the newest Northgate Market in Anaheim. I know you’re going to love it as much as I did! The new Northgate Market is located at 2030 E. Lincoln Ave. Anaheim, CA 92086. northgate-markets-flowers

Kia and B.R.A.K.E.S. Offer FREE Teen Defensive Driving Training in San Diego July 30-31

It’s no secret that Kis is one of my favorite brands. I had the opportunity to drive the Sedona and the Sorento, each one for a week, and loved both of them. It’s a great brand and I appreciate the safety features they build into each model, in addition to all of the other features.2016-kia-sorento-body-openWhen I heard the announcement that Kia Motors America formed an expanded partnership with B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe), a non-profit organization that provides free, hands-on defensive driving workshops in cities nationwide, I was excited to share the news with my readers!

The program was developed to accelerate the education of teen drivers and their parents on safe driving practices. The multi-year partnership is expected to double the number of teens and parents that receive the life-saving training. kia-brakes-classB.R.A.K.E.S. will use an expanded fleet of vehicles provided by Kia and increase the number of classes offered.

Here’s a video about the course:

As a parent of a future teen drive, I don’t like to hear real statistics but it is important to be educated and aware! Did you know that crashes are the leading cause of death for 15-17 year olds worldwide? This is so sad and scary but a real statistic. 2016-kia-sorento-interror-with-dashboardTo provide teenagers with the training and tools to be safe and responsible behind the wheel, Kia Motors America (KMA) and the B.R.A.K.E.S. (Be Responsible And Keep Everyone Safe) Teen Pro-Active Driving School are bringing the 501(c)(3) 0uycharity’s free advanced driver training to San Diego July 30-31 at Qualcomm Stadium. According to a recent study, the B.R.A.K.E.S. program reduces the accident rate of teen drivers by approximately 64% in their first three years of driving. 2016-kia-sorento-satelliteThe B.R.A.K.E.S. curriculum includes advanced, behind-the-wheel training from professional driving instructors using Kia provided vehicles.

Training includes:

  • skid control
  • distracted driving awareness
  • panic stopping (ABS activation)
  • drop-wheel recovery
  • car control

Helpful Tips for Navigating Through Security at Disneyland® Resort

If you’ve been to the Disneyland® Resort lately you may (or may not) have noticed the increase in security prior to entering the Parks. I’ve always felt safe during my visits, but I really appreciate the added efforts which include more thorough screening procedures for guests. Yes, it now takes a little longer to get inside, but isn’t that what we really want for ourselves and for our families? remember-youre-at-the-happiest-place-on-earthAs you approach the security area, it can be a little congested at times. It’s always important to remember…you’re at The Happiest Place on Earth! Nowadays, these extra security measures are necessary. I’m actually glad that Disneyland Resort has done this. heres-what-you-can-expect

Let’s talk about what you can expect, as far as security goes when you visit the Disneyland Resort. First of all, you’ll see signs telling you about items that are completely prohibited, which you should avoid carrying with you to avoid confiscation. no-selfie-sticks-disneyland-resortYou should know that any bags will be checked, as well as strollers and wheelchairs. place-your-items-disneyland-resortOnce you get through the initial bag screening area, you’ll be going through a metal detector, similar to the ones at the airport. You’ll be asked to unload your pockets and place your belongings in a tray before walking through the machines. It seems that they’re currently doing this for all guests. metal-detectors-disneyland-resortThere are things you can do to help speed up the security process for yourself and others around you. As someone who’s been through the lines recently, on a few different “busy days”, I am speaking from experience here. (These are just some of my own tips.) being-prepared-helpsFirst, prior to entering the bag check area, be prepared by already by having your backpack, satchel, and/or purse open for the Cast Members to search. This really helps to keep the line flowing. No one wants to wait extra time while you are asked to remove your bag and open it when you could already be ready. dont-bring-items-that-are-prohibitedSecond, avoid carrying items on the prohibited list. I can’t tell you how many people I’ve seen with “selfie sticks”. They’re on the prohibited list and have been for a while. I’ve even seen this on the news. I’ve also seen guests try to negotiate to be able to bring theirs in with them still. Just don’t! keep-calm-and-disney-onThird, have some extra patience when you’re in line. Sadly, I’ve also witnessed other guests acting in a grumpy manner and complaining to everyone around them. Did you know that positivity is contagious? why-not-thank-a-cast-memberFinally, consider actually thanking a Cast Member as you pass through these security areas. Thank them for working to keep you extra safe. Trust me, it’ll make their day!

Keep Calm and Float On With A SwimWays Spring Float Recliner

This post was sponsored by SwimWays as part of an Activation for Influence Central. I received products to facilitate my review All opinions are 100% my own.

Summer is my favorite season of the year. I love spending time outside with my daughter and soaking up the sunshine. One of our most frequent places to end up on a Summer afternoon is the pool. I enjoy swimming and being in the water, but not as much as my daughter does. I usually prefer to float on something with a cool drink in my hand. swimways-spring-float-recliner-packageI was more than excited to receive a SwimWays Spring Float Recliner to try out in the pool, With what seems like constant heatwave temperatures, this couldn’t have come at a better time. If you haven’t seen these at Walmart yet, they are luxury fabric-covered inflatable floats that are so comfy. They’re top-of-the-line quality and each includes a sit-up style backrest, headrest, ottoman, and a beverage holder! swimways-spring-float-recliner-featuresThe SwimWays Spring Float Recliner is the only float on the market with the patented Inner Spring Technology, which allows it to be easily inflated, closed and carried. Take a peek at how it came out from the package. swimways-spring-float-recliner-foldedOne of the amazing parts about taking this to our pool was how quickly and easily it inflated. I can’t tell you how many times my daughter has asked me to blow something up at the pool and I’ve literally become winded. This was so easy and when I was finished blowing it up, I wasn’t even light-headed afterwards! (That’s a plus!)swimways-spring-float-recliner-keep-calm-and-float-onIn addition to the cup holder for my drink, one of my other favorite things about the float was not having to humiliate myself to get on it in the pool! I’m sure many others can relate to this situation: You’re gracefully trying to climb onto a pool float and it pops out from underneath you or worse, dumps you into the water! The SwimWays Spring Float Recliner was super easy to climb into and there was no humiliation involved! Also, even with my daughter kind of hanging onto it and pulling me around, it was super stable and never came close to flipping over, which is great because no one wants to spill their drink in the pool! swimways-spring-float-recliner-drink

The SwimWays Spring Recliner Float is my new favorite toy this Summer! Keep calm and float on! For more information or to purchase your own, visit their site here. You can connect with SwimWays on Facebook.
